INCI Name: Glyceryl Glucoside

Glycerol glucoside is the main active ingredient of myrothamnus flabellifolia, also known as , Anastatica hierochuntica' and , rose of Jericho', myowood grows in the arid regions of Southern Africa and is able to resist extreme environmental stress, such as chronic water shortage, high salt content, and strong sunlight. The plants accumulate low molecular weight compounds called glucosides, which keep their structure active, protect cell membranes and certain proteins, reduce moisture loss by increasing osmotic pressure in cells, thus to ensure plant itself doesn't dry out completely. When it rains, plants are quickly activated and returned to green. Glycerol glucoside is also found in salt- tolerant cyanobacteria, red wine, white wine and sake.

Glycerol glucoside effectively activates aquaporin AQP3 and hydrates skin deeply 1. In human clinical trials, 1.5% glucoglycoside is able to effectively reduce transdermal water loss and repair skin barrier2 after 10 days of dry treatment. Glycerin glucoside is also able to effectively reduce crow's feet, dry lines, fine lines and so other lines.
